For the first time, scientists found that the human cells to find their way

We all have lost experience. Fortunately, special cells in an animal's help to find their way in the brain in humans can be found for the first time today. This discovery or permission to let people have difficulty to find their way into better treatment.
We know that animals use three types of cells to find their way. Animals when facing a certain direction, the direction cells will get excited. Animals are in a specific location, it will inspire the location of the cells. And as it moving around, the grid cells will trigger on a regular basis.
Scientists have found the direction and position of cells in humans, but there are signs of grid cells only in some brain scans to emerge in the process.
In order to explore whether do exist, these cells in the human brain Joshua jacobs and his colleagues at drexel university in the United States for 14 volunteers were tested. The volunteers were implanted electrodes in the brain for the treatment of epilepsy.
The researchers asked volunteers to play a computer game, and recording them a series of single cell activity in the brain. In the computer games, volunteers driving in open space, they will search for some objects, and remember that they find the location of the object. Then, they must be as soon as possible to confirm the position of the object, but this time, unless the volunteers arrived at the correct destination, otherwise, they will not be able to see these objects.
Computer virtual environment is lack of specific visual cues to suggest the position of the object. This is because the researchers hope that volunteers can form a mental image to the position of the object. This requires them to use the grid cells.
The researchers found that single cell to regularly launch, formed a similar kind of triangle pattern seen in the animal's brain. With animals, most of these single cells are present in the entorhinal cortex and cingulate cortex. Entorhinal cortex responsible for navigation and memory, and the cingulate cortex related to learning. But it is a bit of a surprise, some cells in related to form new episodic memory of the prefrontal cortex. Episodic memory is the memory of a certain time and space events, for example came across a long-lost friend in the street.
At the university of nijmegen in the Netherlands in Christian, said: "this is an exciting research, this is the first direct evidence of human with the grid cells. Especially it is interesting to note that, the olfactory cortex was observed outside the grid cells." He said, which may explain, humans have a larger grid cell network to help us form episodic memory.
Jacobs said that alzheimer's patients entorhinal cortex appears unusual activity, these patients are sometimes have problems to find their way. Jacobs said: "for people to find their way difficulties, we to the related circuits of any found helpful. Maybe we can develop some drugs or brain stimulation techniques, and use this kind of technology to improve the grid cell activity."
